Afipka (in May 2019 it became a part of Mikhail Gutseriev's SAFMAR Group, the plant is managed by ForteInvest), commissioning works have been completed on the vapor recovery unit in the tank farm, pumping and communications workshop.

The work took place as part of the technical re-equipment of the oil product unloading and loading rack. The vapor recovery unit (VRS) will significantly reduce hydrocarbon emissions into the air.

“The unit is designed to capture vapors of light hydrocarbons,” commented Alexander Gribok, Director General of Afipka. – When using the equipment, hydrocarbons pass into the liquid phase, which allows reuse of valuable vapor fractions. But the main thing is that the minimum release of harmful substances into the environment will be guaranteed at the oil loading site.

The unit launch is scheduled in the near short term. It is planned to start integrated testing and commissioning of the VRS in September this year.
